Get a Consultation From The Comfort of Your Home
Given the Covid-19 pandemic and the restrictions on travel and social engagements we at the Leicester Bowel Clinic are providing online video consultations for patients, so you can get a consultation from the safety of your home.
Online consultations are a convenient way to discuss a medical problem with your doctor. They offer an opportunity to discuss your problems with a surgeon or doctor. It is however important to realise that they are not a replacement for a face-to-face consultation to make a diagnosis.
Online Consultations make sense when:
Discussing treatment options for your condition once they have already been diagnosed.
Obtaining advice and reassurance about risk factors, symptoms and signs of conditions such as cancer.
An alternative to a face-to-face follow up for chronic conditions that require a follow-up.
We offer telephone consultations and allow for their costs to be deducted from any further face-to-face clinic consultation if necessary. We would request you to email us copies of any relevant investigations or medical correspondence prior to your telephone consultation.
You can request an appointment slot below and will be connected to a payment gateway to pay for the consultation. If you decide to cancel your consultation within 24 hours of the appointment or if we cannot offer you a suitable time, you will receive a refund after deducting a fee of £5.

Video Consultation Process
The clinic.co is a basic software for NHS that uses your phone or email address to connect with the doctor.
The accuRx Fleming system allows you to have video consultations with your consultant and receive text messages.
What will you need for the consultation ?
A smartphone, either with working Wifi/3G/4G connection
Your Internet Browser needs to have your phone's microphone and camera enabled (you can see how to alter this in your phone settings here)
iPhones running older software that has not been updated (iOS 12 and earlier) will need to download the Whereby app to join the consultation)
If you use email you would need to use the clinic.co platform and connect on your laptop if you have a built-in camera and microphone. The accurx fleming platform is only for mobile phones
You could choose if you prefer a telephone or video consultation and let us know once you have booked your appointment.
We prefer accuRx is an NHS digital approved e-consultation system and requires your NHS number for the healthcare provider to message you.
